Smiles at Falling Leaf

leafSitting patiently by an oak leaf

Shaded by a Sycamore tree

 And waiting for falling leaf

 I slowly sipped an aperitif

Just before I ate the large beef

Whilst I watched with relief

And saw from afar a face so naïve

And I asked within my self

Isn’t that the local chief?

Whose son was a common thief?

Who got killed by the Sheriff?

He sat by his window in disbelief

And abandoned himself in grief

But smiled when I catch a leaf
